History

ICC was established in 1973, as a former ICC's body, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Study Abroad Committee. ICC has expanded its business and opened 5 domestic branch offices in partnership with major broadcasting stations and newspaper company nationwide. In addition to domestic offices, ICC currently owns 4 overseas branch offices in US, UK, Australia and New Zealand for the purpose of supporting students and keeping our programs high in quality.

1973 Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Study Abroad Committee founded
1989 Formed a partnership with Bellevue Community College (Bellevue, Washington, USA), and started International Business Professions (IBP) Program
1990 'International Cross-cultural Committee (ICC)' became independent from Nippon Cultural Broadcasting and registered as 'Cosmo Research Institute Co., Ltd.'
The second ICC domestic office, ICC Kyoto Office established in association with Kyoto Broadcasting System.
ICC Seattle Office established
By partnering with a publishing company, launched a publishing business
'Youth International Scholarship Program,' for university students, sponsored by Tempstaff Co., Ltd started
'Tempstaff Worldwide Scholarship Program,' for working professionals, sponsored by Tempstaff Co., Ltd started
1993 The third ICC branch, 'ICC Osaka', in association with Osaka Broadcasting Corporation, established.
With the invitation from, New Zealand Education International Limited (NZEIL, currently Education New Zealand) the survey was conducted on Japanese high school students in New Zealand.
Partnered with NZEIL for the purpose of creating a support system for Japanese high school students, Japanese advisors were recruited locally
By the request from the New Zealand Embassy, the first edition of Study Abroad Guide-New Zealand was published
1994 The fourth ICC branch, ICC Fukuoka Office was established in association with Nishinippon Press
The fifth ICC branch, ICC Nagoya was established in association with Chyukyo TV Broadcasting
First group of 25 high school students was sent off to New Zealand
ICC Auckland Office was established in New Zealand
Requested by the Australian Embassy, the survey was conducted on current status of international students in Australia
The second edition of 'Study Abroad Guide-New Zealand,' published by the New Zealand Embassy, was edited
Requested by the Australian Embassy, the survey was conducted on Japanese high school students in Australia
1995 The Department of Education Victoria (currently the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) and ICC signed non-exclusive agreement, creating a foundation for reliable international students' support by hiring Japanese advisors
Changed the company name to Temp Research Institute Co., Ltd., upon investment by Tempstaff Co.,Ltd.

1996 Established ICC London Office at Westminster University Campus
IBP Program in London started, partnered with Westminster University
First group of 28 high school students were sent off to Australia
1997 ICC Melbourne Office was established
Formed a partnership with University of Washington, USA, and IBP Program at UW started
The sixth ICC branch, ICC Yokohama was established in association with Television Kanagawa
Formed non-exclusive agreement with Sundai Center for International Education, a major private tutoring school, to assist Japanese high school graduates in New Zealand / Australia, and their university admission process in Japan
Book "Ryugaku Shitemitai! Koukou Ryugaku (Wanna Study Abroad! High School Overseas Study)" published by Sanshusha
Held the first High School Overseas Study Fair in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, and invited high school representatives from Australia and New Zealand (15-20 high schools are represented in 2007)
1998 University placement program department was created at Tokyo headquarters in order to assist high school graduates in Australia and New Zealand to move on to Universities in Australia, New Zealand, or the United States
